Veena is a versatile artist in physical theater, with roles as a Visiting Lecturer, Researcher, Clown, Teaching Artist, Dancer, Choreographer, and Mask Player. Her work focuses on healing rituals and connecting with non-theatrical communities, especially children. She holds an MFA equivalent in Ensemble-Based Physical Theatre from Dell’arte International School and a First Class BPA in Theatre and Television from Lovely Professional University, India. Currently, she is pursuing an MPhil at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
Veena’s teaching spans Sri Lanka, the USA, and beyond, with notable works such as “Once Upon a Time, I was Addicted to You”, addressing the healing of abused women. She is currently a full-time artist at Power of Play pvt ltd, Colombo, where she focuses on community-based projects. Her extensive training includes Navarasa, Balinese dance, Commedia Dell’Arte, Tai-Chi, and more.
Veena is passionate about using the arts for healing and education, especially helping children learn through their mistakes.
